Larry David, the legend behind 'Seinfeld' and 'Curb Your Enthusiasm,' revealed himself to be even more disagreeable than the fictional Grinch when it comes to Christmas. In 2021, he wrote an essay for Air Mail titled 'A Very Larry David Christmas,' in which he delves into his aversion to festive celebrations. He wrote that he would be "filled with dread at the prospect of close social encounters with what seemed like hundreds of relatives" on Christmas.

"Over the years, my Scrooginess at these Christmas Day gatherings became so intolerable that in due course everyone realized how much better the day would be without my off-putting, nay, offensive presence."
