In this poorly received thriller, Robert De Niro plays an obsessed San Francisco Giants fan, who's equally as obsessed with player Bobby Rayburn (Wesley Snipes).

▲Himself a Chicago Blackhawks' fan, Vince Vaughn has been filmed at the team's games in a few movies. But the most notable of these appearances is arguably as Ronny in the comedy 'The Dilemma.'
▲Given that the animated adult comedy is set in Colorado, it's no surprise that Stan (voiced by 'South Park' co-creator Trey Parker) is a Denver Broncos fan.
▲Lest we forget, Will Smith played Will Smith (no fictional last name) on 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.' And just like the real Will Smith, his character is a fan of the Philadelphia 76ers. He is, after all, from west Philadelphia, born and raised.
▲Now this one's a bit of an outlier. In 'Jerry Maguire,' little Ray (Jonathan Lipnicki) is a fan of the Arizona Cardinals, including fictional wide receiver Rod Tidwell (Cuba Gooding Jr.).
▲Given that 'Full House' (and its sequel, 'Fuller House') is set in San Francisco, it's not that surprising that Danny (Bob Saget) is a San Francisco 49ers fan, is it?
▲In 'Notes on a Scandal,' Brian (Phil Davis) is seen returning from a Tottenham Hotspur game in a Spurs scarf and cap. He even utters the line, "3-0. Jermain Defoe. Get in there!"
▲Ben (Jimmy Fallon) is the ultimate Boston Red Sox fan in this comedy. But to make things work with his new girlfriend Lindsey (Drew Barrymore), they both must make some compromises.
▲Pawnee is found where? In Indiana, just like the Indianapolis Colts, Andy's (Chris Pratt) favorite NFL team. He's also a fan of the Indiana Pacers.
▲

If you're a fan of this sitcom, you won't forget Bud's (David Faustino) turn as rapper Grandmaster B, who loved to wear his Los Angeles Raiders (now Oakland and soon-to-be Las Vegas Raiders) cap and jacket around Chicago, of all places!

▲Think back to the prison scene and how Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) and Mini-Me (the late Verne Troyer) somehow starred in their own 'Hard Knock Life' music video, featuring Toronto Maple Leafs jerseys and all. Myers is a real-life fan.
▲Starring opposite George Clooney, Jennifer Lopez's character is a Miami Dolphins fan. And here's a fun bit of trivia for you: in 2009, Lopez's then-husband Marc Anthony became a minority owner in the team.
▲You may remember seeing Daniel (Ralph Macchio) wearing a San Diego Chargers  jersey in the 1984 film. Today, however, the team is known as the Los Angeles Chargers.
▲A real New York guy, Joey (Matt LeBlanc) is a big fan of the Knicks. He also showed a lot of love for the NHL's New York Rangers.
▲Jason (Manny Jacinto) is a huge fan of his hometown NFL team, the Jacksonville Jaguars. He would've been devastated by the news they cut his favorite player, quarterback Blake Bortles, in March 2019.
▲There's something that just makes sense about Alex (Michael J. Fox), a teen with a very old soul, being a fan of the old-school Pittsburgh Steelers.
▲Cameron's (Alan Ruck) Detroit Red Wings jersey with Gordie Howe's name and number is simply iconic. Although the film is set in Chicago, director John Hughes was born in Michigan and was himself a lifelong fan of the Red Wings and Howe.
▲The Philadelphia Eagles' 2008 season has a direct role in the plot of 'Silver Linings Playbook.' Pat's a fan, and so is the actor behind him, Bradley Cooper.
▲Queens is home to a large majority of New York Jets fans, so it only makes sense that Doug (Kevin James), the so-called king of Queens, would be a fan. James is himself a Jets fan, but he's actually from Long Island.
▲Another case of art imitating life. Both the fictional and real-life Larry David are fans of the Los Angeles Lakers.
▲With the show set in Detroit, it seems only right that Tim "The Toolman" Taylor (Tim Allen) is a Lions fan. He also supports other local teams, and they even made it into some of the show's story lines. Allen is himself a fan, having been raised in the Detroit area.
▲In this comedy-drama, Patton Oswalt plays Paul, the "world’s biggest New York Giants fan." Unfortunately for Paul, this doesn't work out in his favor.
▲The show is set in Philadelphia, and Cory (Ben Savage) was spotted in Phillies gear on more than one occasion. But perhaps a lot has changed since then, because in full promotional mode for spin-off 'Girl Meets World,' Savage and Danielle Fishel (who plays Topanga) were photographed in Los Angeles Dodgers jerseys!
▲With 'The Wire' set in Baltimore, it's perhaps no surprise that Detective William "The Bunk" Moreland (Wendell Pierce) is a Ravens fan.
▲Jimmy (Mike O'Malley) is your everyday average Joe on this sitcom, and he happens to have a huge passion for the Washington Redskins.
▲This romantic comedy was filmed in Pittsburgh, including scenes at a Penguins game. Kirk (Jay Baruchel) and his friends are fans of the team.
▲Billy (Vincent Gallo) and his family are shown to be fans of the Buffalo Bills in this indie film, in which the Bills' loss in Super Bowl XXV (decided by a missed field goal) plays an important role in the plot.
▲New Yorkers Jerry and George (Jason Alexander) are big Mets fans. For her part, Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is a fan of her hometown team, the Baltimore Orioles.
▲

We also have several sports fans on this show. Canadian Robin (Cobie Smulders) is a fan of the NHL's Vancouver Canucks, while Minnesota-born Marshall (Jason Segel) is a diehard Vikings fan and Ted (Josh Radnor) loves the many teams of his home state, Ohio.

▲

Spawning two sequels, 'Major League' focused on a fictionalized version of the Cleveland Indians, a team so bad that their attendance rates are horribly low. But a few dedicated fans always show up, even if just to bemoan how poor the team is.

We've had a lot of shows and movies about sports team over the years, but how about focusing on the ones who really matter: the fans! After all, these individuals are much more relatable for audiences.

If you watched 'Friends,' there's no way it escaped you that Joey is a huge fan of the New York Knicks and Rangers. And if you went to see 'Fever Pitch' in theaters, the title told you all you had to know. But do you remember the sports connections in 'The Wire' or 'Notes on a Scandal,' for instance?

Well, there's no need to remember—in this gallery, we'll refresh your memory, and teach you a few things too.
